       SUMMER SCHEDULE

          

           The Ogdensburg Boys & Girls Club has announced its Summer Schedule for 2008.  August Club hours will be Tuesday - Friday 1:00 - 5:00 PM; & Tuesday - Friday 6:00 - 9:00 PM *with field trips on Thursdays.

 

           We will be offering Power Hour from 3:00 - 4:30 PM, Monday - Thursday; Attain Lab Activities Daily; Bingo on Friday Nights; Girls Gym Time on Tuesdays; Board Games Night; Arts & Crafts; Game Room Tournaments; Fitness Room; Diversity Festivals, with much, much more.  Please continue to check our Calendar of Events for up to date activities.  Also, please check below to see the activities that will occur in the months of July and August !!

 

OBGC SUMMER CAMP JUNE 30-JULY 3RD-  The camp will run Monday-Thursday  from 8:00AM-4:00 PM.  Cost is $10 and  includes a morning snack and drink at lunch time for ages  6-15.  Activities include Baseball, basketball, soccer, touch football, whiffleball, game room events, arts and crafts, computer activities, small field trips and more.  All participants will be required to read a book and report on it during the week, with younger campers having  the opportunity to read out loud each day.  Scholarships are available.

 

SUNDAY JULY 27th ALUMNI GOLF TOURNAMENT - Sign up for the annual OBGC Golf Tournament  to compete against fellow alumni  and friends of the club in a round of golf at the State Park in Ogdensburg.  Also features a dinner afterwards, door prizes and more fun with friends from the past and present.

 

WEDNESDAY, July 30th TRIP #1 -YANKEE STADIUM OVERNIGHT TRIP & MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY AND HAYDEN

PLANETARIUM

The OBGC takes a trip to legendary Yankee Stadium as the Yankees host the Baltimore Orioles in a 1:05 start.  After the game we will take the one hour ride to Sacred Heart University in Bridgeport, Conn. for a sleepover in their gymnasium.  On Thursday we will be going to the Museum of Natural History and the Hayden Planetarium.  Field trips are $30 each or all four  for $120, Yankee trip is $60.

 

TUESDAY, AUGUST 5th 1:30 P.M.  WELCOME BACK PICNIC-

Treats, food, games, and fun  welcome members back for the summer season.

6:30 P.M. OUTDOR GAME NIGHT - Capture the flag, tag, hide & seek and chase in Father Martin Park.

 

THURSDAY, AUGUST 7th REMINGTON MUSEUM & CITY POOL SWIM - Meet at the club at 1:00 p.m. Walk to Remington Museum & City Pool.

 

TUESDAY, AUGUST 12th 9:00 A.M. -GEORGE GOULT MEMORIAL SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT -Boys & girls grades 5-12 can participate (grade you are entering) in this double elimination slow-pitch tournament at Father Martin Park.  Make your own 10 person team.  Call 393-1241.

 

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 13th 1:30 P.M. - JR 3-ON-3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT - Trophies for top teams and most valuable offensive, defensive and sportsmanship for boys 6th-9th grades or girls 6th-12th grades (the grade you are entering) Call 393-1241 to enter a team.                                                                       6:30 P.M.  WHIFFLE BALL WORLD SERIES - Call 393-1241 to participate.

 

THURSDAY, AUGUST 14TH TRIP # 2 - MOUNT CASCADES WATER PARK Travel to Mount Cascades in Quebec, which features a number of great water slides and water rides.  Trips are $30 each or all four for $120.

 

SATURDAY AUGUST 16th CAPTAIN & CREW GOLF TOURNAMENT- Hosted by Myer’s Pub at Deerfield Golf Course, this Captain & Crew format will cost $75 per person and includes an 18-hole round of golf with a cart, lunch and dinner, prizes and more.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 19th, 1:30 PM - OUTSIDE TENNIS BALL TOURNEY- Baseball with a Tennis Ball outside.  Teams made that day.

 

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 20th, 1:30 PM - SCATTER DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT OUTSIDE - Come out and enjoy the annual outdoor dodge ball tournament with prizes and more fun during the day.

 

6:30 PM WHIFFLEBALL WORLD SERIES

 

THURSDAY, AUGUST 21st TRIP # 3 - OTTAWA MUSEUM OF NATURE & MOONEY’S BAY-Visit the Museum of Nature which features fossil and mammal galleries and a Discovery Zone. Swim and picnic at Mooney’s Bay in Ottawa.  Included  with the trip is admission to the Museum & Park.

 

TUESDAY AUGUST 26th, 10 AM - CAR WASH - Come and get your car washed by members of the club at our annual car wash.

 

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27th DEERFIELD GOLF OUTING - Learn the basic fundamentals of golfing with etiquette and a chance to play four holes at the Deerfield Golf Course.  Sign ups are limited.  Call 393-1241 for more information.

6:30 P.M. WHIFFLE BALL WORLD SERIES CONCLUDES

 

THURSDAY,AUGUST  28th TRIP # 4 - ALEXANDRIA BAY & KEEWAYDIN PICNIC

Included with this trip is mini-golf at Bonnie Castle (batting cage or driving range is your option and cost) Keewaydin Picnic and swim.  Be at the club at 8:30 a.m. bus leaves at 9:00 a.m. and returns at 4:30 p.m.  Picnic lunch provided, bring a towel and swim suit or trunks. Trips are $30 each, Yankee trip $60 or all four trips for $120.

 

FRIDAY, AUGUST 29th 1:00 P.M. - END OF SUMMER CLUB PICNIC - The Club will provide a picnic lunch and have sack races, egg toss, water balloon toss, wheel barrel races and more.  This concludes the summer programs at the club.
