34th expo on

March 26th, 27th & 28th, 2010!

The Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club is preparing for the 34^th Annual Expo to be held March 26^th, 27^th and 28^th and held at the OFA Golden Dome and High School.  The Expo Committee has been working since September on this years show and is pleased to announce that this years theme will be “Fort La Presentation our History our Heritage” with the Fort La Presentation Association being honored as the Honorary Chairperson.  “The Fort has played such an instrumental part in Ogdensburg’s past and the associations work is beneficial for all area residents especially children who need to know the importance of their heritage.  We hope to have special events taking place in conjunction with the fort all weekend at Expo, stated Thomas P. Luckie, Jr., OBGC Executive Director.”

           The Club is also selling Raffle tickets for its annual fundraiser with first prize being a Yamaha Raptor 250 Four Wheeler donated by Blevins Brothers and Pepsi-Cola & is currently being displayed at NBT Bank on Ford Street Ext. , second and third prizes a $1,500 Gift Certificate to Gardner’s Flooring and Furniture, fourth prize is a $1,300 Gift Certificate to Triple A Building Center in Canton, fifth prize is a Lenovo Thinkpad Laptop donated by SUNY Attain Lab, sixth prize is $1,000 Gift Certificate to Carbino’s Jewelry, seventh prize is $1,000 Lighting –Hayes Appliance Center, eighth prize is $1,000 Series E Savings Bond at NBT Bank, ninth prize is $500 Cash from the Moose Lodge, tenth prize is $500 Credit from St. Lawrence Gas, and eleventh prize is $500 in gift cards to Best Buy.  There will also be an Early Bird Drawing of $500 donated by the Oddfellows on March 17^th.

           Exhibitor’s booths and spots in the craft area are filling up quickly and Expo is a great place to promote your business, products or to make contacts.  For further information please call 393-1241.

What is Expo?

           Expo is the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club’s major fundraiser and features all types of exhibits (cars, boats, products, crafts, etc..) as well as concessions, carnival games, a health fair and entertainment.

When and Where is Expo?

           Expo is held at the OFA Golden Dome & High School (1100 State Street, Ogdensburg New York 13669), Friday, March 26th from 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Saturday, March 27th from 10:00 AM  - 8:00 PM, and Sunday, March 28th from 12:00 PM - 4:30 PM.

Is there a charge? What’s included?

           Admission is $3.00 per person with a family rate of $15.00 for a family of 6 or more.  Admission includes the exhibit and craft area as well as free entertainment all weekend.  In addition, Expo has become a sign that spring is coming and thousands of people attend.  Your sure to see some familiar faces at the show.

How does Expo happen?

           Hundreds of volunteers work countless hours to make the event possible and support the club.

Should I bring my children?

           Absolutely, there is an area dedicated to children with carnival games (a small charge) and all sorts of fun.  Some of the entertainment is geared towards the young or young at heart.
